Vice President Commiserates With Bereaved Families In Navrongo

Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, today commiserated with families of the late Madam Grace Abatey, a Former Upper East Regional Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the late Mr. Kenneth Elvis Anewenah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Myturn Construction Limited.

Dr Bawumia’s first point of call was in the family house of Madam Abatey in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality, where he signed a book of condolence.

He described the former Women’s Organizer as a kind and generous woman, saying her passing was a sad event for the entire NPP.

“You were a kind and generous individual, we believe you are in heaven and that gives us comfort” the Vice President wrote in the book of condolence for the late Madam Abatey.

While in the Municipality, Dr. Bawumia also visited the family house of the late Mr. Anewenah and equally signed a book of condolence.

He said the death of the CEO, popularly known as Lesken, came as a shock to many, and wrote that “You have left us in complete shock. Your passing is difficult to come to terms with.”

The Vice President said Mr. Anewenah was in the prime of his life and at the peak of his career doing well for the country in the area of development.

The Second Gentleman of the country told the bereaved family that the death of the CEO would not end his relationship with them, but rather strengthen the bond between them.

He gave the assurance that whatever was needed to keep the memory of Mr Anewenah, would be done, adding that government would participate in the burial ceremony.

The Uncle of the late Lesken, Mr. Robert Kumpurshie, described the death of his nephew as an irredeemable lost as he was the pride and germ of the family.

He said the family was still in shock and found it difficult to come to terms with the sad event.

Dr. Bawumia, in the company of Hon. Ambrose Dery, the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Stephen Yakubu, the Upper East Regional Minister, Municipal and District Chief Executives, other government officials and NPP Executives, also called on the Paramount Chief of the Navrongo Traditional Area, Pe Denis Aneakwoa Balinia Adda Asagpaare II.
