STEPHEN YAKUBU URGES GHANA’S STRONGEST TO PROMOTE PEACE
The Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Stephen Yakubu, has urged the 2023 Ghana’s Strongest, Mr. Godfred Akolbila to use his position to promote peace among the youth in the Region.
He encouraged him to initiate peace activities that would influence the youth in their communities and desist from unlawful behaviours.
“Now that you are in the lime light, learn the good culture of Upper East, let everybody know that we are good people, law abiding citizens and l believe the youth will emulate you and wish to follow your path,” he advised.
Hon. Yakubu gave the advice in his office on Friday, when Mr Akolbila, a native of the Region and winner of the year’s Ghana’s Most Strongest contest, called on him to officially present the belt to him.
Ghana’s Strongest is a popular TV3 reality programme for both males and females which seeks to select the most strongest person in the country.
The Regional Minister advised the youth to emulate Mr. Akolbila, and take any activity they undertook seriously and ensure they performed to the best of their ability.
The Minister, who is the Chair of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), said in spite of the chieftaincy, land and tribal challenges, particularly in the Bawku area, the region had lots of opportunities.
“Even our foods, including the guinea fowl, makes us strong, smart and intelligent,” he noted.
Hon. Yakubu cautioned against any unlawful behaviour and encouraged the Champion to take up initiatives that would promote his status and not hesitate to call on stakeholders in region to support where necessary.
Mr. Akolbila expressed appreciation to the Regional Minister for the opportunity to meet him, the warm reception he received and thanked him for the advice.
Mr. Akolbila, while in the Region, would undertake some activities including float through some major streets in the Bolgatanga Municipality today, September 9, and later pay a courtesy call on the Sirigu Naba.
