RICE FACTORY IN FUMBISI ON TRIAL

Hon. Stephen Yakubu, the Upper East Regional Minister has inspected the progress of work on a Rice Factory at Fumbisi, in the Builsa South District  under the One-District-One-Factory initiative by the Akuffo-Addo government.

The Factory, which was on trial, processes and bags rice in different kilograms for sale on the market.

The Minister was happy about the progress of work on the Factory, and expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for the initiative, and his desire to  create jobs for the teeming youth of the country.

At the site for the District’s ‘Agenda III’ project, where Hon. Yakubu extended his inspection, construction work was at the sub-structure level.

The Minister was unhappy with the slow pace of work as compared to other beneficiary Districts in the Region.

To meet the deadline of 2024, the Minister said he would take keen interest in the project, and urged the District Chief Executive,  the Consultant and Contractor to resolve any challenges that militated against the progress of work.

He observed that there was communication gap between the Consultant and the Contractor, and urged them to address their differences to propel the process of work to meet the scheduled deadline.

As part of the Minister’s visit to the District, he interacted with staff of the District Assembly and urged them to continue to support management to bring the desire development to the people of the District.
