His Excellency, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has paid glowing tribute in honour of the late Naba Moses Abaare Appiah IV, a former Chief of Binaba in the Bawku West District.
The President said the late Chief in his private life, contributed to the service of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), especially at the time the Party was not strong in the Bawku West District, especially Binaba, before he was later enskinned Chief of the area.
President Akufo-Addo said he knew Naba Appiah IV in the 1990’s when they both worked together to build the Party, “That time, our position in Zebilla, particularly in Binaba here was very weak, and if anybody is responsible for building the NPP to where it is today, then its Moses Appiah, ” he recalled.
The President said this when he joined the family of the late Chief, NPP members, traditional rulers and residents of Binaba to mourn.
The President made a donation of GH¢50,000.00 to support the family.
The late Chief was enskinned by the Paramount Chief of the Bawku Traditional Area, Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II on July 1, 2009.
He reigned for 12 years.
