His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Mr. Charles Aboyella as the Acting Managing Director (MD) for the Irrigation Company of Upper Region (ICOUR) effective November 11, 2024.
Mr. Aboyella took over from the former MD, Dr. Benedict Bonaventure Aligebam, who attained the compulsory retirement of 60 years.
Hon. Alhaji Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper East Regional Minister, who introduced the new MD to the management and staff of the company, said he undertook the task on behalf of the President to ensure the smooth operations of the company.
The Minister, who is the Board Chairman of the ICOUR, told workers of the company that “we must ensure work continues success.”
He said the ICOUR had been in the news for the wrong reason for a long time, and expressed the hope that with the transition of power, its fortunes would turn for the better.
On his part, Mr. Aboyella thanked President Akufo-Addo for the opportunity to serve the company, and said the mandate was a call to duty.
He pledged his commitment and readiness to work assiduously to achieve the core mandate of the company.
