MINISTER APPRECIATES SERVICE PROVIDERS IN BAWKU
The Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Stephen Yakubu has expressed appreciation to service providers in Bawku despite the challenges in the area.
He mentioned the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), the BESSFA Rural Bank, the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), GRIDCo, the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the Ghana Education Service (GES), the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Transport Operators among others.
The Minister expressed appreciation at the Second Dialogue of State and Non-State Actors meeting on effective promotion of Peace and Security in Northern Ghana organized by Star-Ghana Foundation in Bolgatanga.
The Minister said the contributions of the service providers in spite of the violent conflict in Bawku was worth recommending, adding that “Your commitment to remain resolute in providing social services to our people in spite of the conflict is really appreciated, thank you very much,” he said.
Hon. Yakubu who is the Chairman of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), commended the Security Agencies in the area for their selfless and priceless efforts in not only restoring law and order, but also peacefully engaging the people for reintegration in the area.
He used the occasion to appeal to other service providers who had fled the Municipality as a result of the conflict to return for the sake of innocent individuals who had to travel to Bolgatanga to access the same services.
He said the absence of services of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), the GCB Bank and the Law Courts was a burden to residents on daily basis.
