The Deputy CEO of the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA), Abubakr Mohammed, paid a courtesy call on the Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Akamugri Donatus Atanga, on Wednesday to explore ways of supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs in the region.
The meeting focused on strategies to help local business owners scale up their operations, with particular attention on farmers and entrepreneurs within the Afro-processing value chain. Mr. Mohammed highlighted some of GEA’s ongoing initiatives in the region, including the Biz Box program, the Rural Enterprise Project, and interventions in districts such as Navrongo, Bolga, Bawku, and Sandema.
Hon. Atanga urged the GEA to collaborate closely with District Chief Executives (DCEs) to ensure the full impact of these initiatives reaches grassroots businesses. The discussion underscored the government’s commitment to empowering local enterprises for economic growth.
